- Mercy Johnson - She really made news this year with her Traditional and White wedding to Prince Okojie. Her news was on every headline both Prints, Magazines and Online. She was the number one buzz maker in Nollywood this year. Right from the preparation till the end, the news about her wedding was everywhere. After the successful wedding in Recently in the news, it was said that she got blind at a movie location. Her publicist debunked the story and said it was a rumor that she is on a movie location in Lagos and getting set for her trip to Australia in a matter of days.
- Rita Dominic - The Beautiful actress was the Co Host for The Headies (Hip Hop World Awards) with Ace Producer and Rapper Eldee The Don.
- Chinedu 'Aki' Ikedezie - The other half of Pawpaw got engaged recently to his wife Nneoma.
- Funke Akindele - who started her career in 'I Need to know' series back in the days has risen enormously by the choice of many movies and also becoming brand Ambassador for companies like GLO, Lagos State Internal Revenue Service and she just got an endorsement deal with KLIN Detergent. After the release of OMO GHETTO Pt 2, she premiered her movie in October 2011 'The return of Jenifa' which sold over 7 million on its first week at the Cinemas.
- Olu Jacob and Joke Silva - These couples are the most respected couples in the Movie Industry as at today. Mrs Jacobs clocked 50 in October and her husband of 25years renewed their vows on her 50th birthday at Freedom Park, Broad street Lagos Island. Romantic couples you say.. Olu Jacobs also got a National award on Sunday November 13th, 2011 from Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan the conferred award of Member of the Federal Republic (MFR)
- Ini Edo - Truly, she had the year rosy for her. She landed her self in a multi million naira endorsement deal with Rebecca Hair Product makers of Noble Hair, also a GLO Ambassador. She premiered her new Movie 'I'll take my Chances' in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State on Saturday, September 24, 2011. She also won Best Actress in Nigeria at the 2011 ZAFAA Awards.
- Tonto Dike - The Screen Goddess has many tongues wagging this year with her enormous Mermaid Tattoo on her back.
- Odunlade Adekola - The Yoruba Actor was announced earlier this year as a GLO Ambassador for Africa's Biggest Tele-communication Company.
- Uche Jombo - The Beautiful Nollywood Actress premiered her movie ' Damage' this year a on July 31, 2011 at the Silverbird Galleria in Lagos/ And she also premiered the movie in Houston, USA and New York.
- Kunle Afolayan - The Yoruba Actor joined other celebrities as one of the GLO Ambassadors earlier this year with Odunlade Adekola. Phone Swap’ is the new feature film by award winning actor/director Kunle Afolayan. Fresh off the critical and commercial success from his last offering ‘The Figurine’’, any project Kunle touches turns into gold and this clip already looks like a surefire winner. Starring sultry Nollywood diva Nse IKpe Etim, screen legend Joke Silva, Wale Ojo and Ghanian Lydia Forson.
- Kate Henshaw - The Nollywood Actress, Face of Onga ambassador and former GLO Ambassador clocked the Big ''40' in July 2011. She threw a lavish party (organized by Elizabeth R) and wined 'n' dined with family and close friends. Her colleagues in Nollywood were not left out. Love that she is brave enough to embrace her age publicly. Recently her Marriage of 12 years hit the rocks. Painful! But she has moved on..
- Jim Iyke - The Nollywood Actor Jim Iyke has come to terms with the fact that, he has a serious anger problem and such needs help. Is it refreshing he has realized he has anger problems and he is doing something about it by taking anger management classes.
- Stephanie Okereke - Nollywood star LG Ambassador, Face of Kanelekon Hair Products, VVF Advocate Stephanie Okereke covered the October Edition of The Complete Fashion Magazine along side Bez Idakula. And she also received a National Award on November 13th , 2011.
- Nse Ikpe Etim - Nse Ikpe-Etim has been in the entertainment industry since age 18 when she anchored a show on NTA. Her first movie role was in Venom of justice 2 after which she has acted in various movies including the Nollywood BIG hit movies, Reloaded and Guilty Pleasures, where she acted as Ramsey Nouah's wife. She is Fast becoming a face to reckon with in the movie industry. She has featured in so many movies Phone Swap, Same Page Stage Play and others. She won Best Actress at the 2011 Best of Nollywood Awards in Lagos.

Ini Edo’s premiere of I’ll Take My Chances' full release slated for next year
Nollywood star, Ini Edo who recently ventured into movie production with I’ll Take My Chances which she jointly produced, is set to premiere her latest work in Lagos. The actress who recently got her appointment with the United Nations renewed as the United Nations youth envoy on environment for another year is putting finishing touch to her preparation.
Anticipation is high and fingers are crossed in the entertainment and fashion capital of Nigeria, Lagos as the movie, I’ll Take My Chances comes to town.
Having enjoyed a very successful premiere in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state, the banquet hall of the Meridien Hotel on the 24th September to be precise, the movie is now set to be premiered in Lagos and many celebrities,
industry pundits, associates and well wishers are all expected to throng the venue of the premiere in grand style. Following the resounding success and acceptance it enjoyed in Uyo, more is expected when the premiere comes alive in Lagos. The Lagos premiere of the movie which was jointly produced by the duo of Ini Edo and Emem Isong will take place sometimes in December this year.
I’ll Take My Chances centers on a medley of drama, dance, love and suspense, which is intended for people who are very passionate about dance and movies but not like the type often portrayed in most Bollywood films, but this time, it’s more Nigerian in perspective and philosophy.
The dance-themed movie boasts of an impressive cast that include the ever radiant Ini Edo, one-time Mr. Nigeria, Bryan Okwara, the president of ANTP, Jide Kosoko, Sam Loco Efe of blessed memory, Biola Williams, Lilian Ikpe, the dance sensation, Ashleigh Clark among others.
Directed by Desmond Elliot, a prolific actor, I’ll Take My Chances is a real departure from the frequently seen story lines in the movie industry as the content, style and philosophy behind it distinguishes it from most of the scripts daily churned out by directors and producers alike.
The movie tells the story of I.K, a young theatre arts graduate who majored in dance in the U.S., he hopes to stage a drama but lacks the funds to get through with it, and he also sought the help of his girlfriend, Giselle. However, I.K has to go for his youth service in a village in cross river and there he meets the beautiful Idara( Ini Edo). Despite their obvious differences, the two are drawn together but Idara harbours a secret. She has been selected to be the next High Priestess of Unek, a diety that is worshipped by her people through dance. Something will have to give as she is torn between her love for I.K and the path of destiny chosen by the deity. The movie is set to be at the cinemas from next year in all the cinemas nationwide

She's not poor, of course, as her "makeup for gingers" sells quite well and also she was IN FUCKING GIRLS ALOUD. But if her solo career was all we were going on, we'd have to say she was quite poorly indeed.
Her first track, 'Beat Of My Drum,' despite being balls-to-the-wall brilliant and essentially being a better version of Madonna's big comeback single only recorded and released several months earlier, landed with a thud at #27 in the UK. Then, her big followup - the Dragonette (!!) penned 'Lucky Day' - fared even worse down at #40. Sure the album cracked the top 20, but it's the UK for chrissake. It's not like it's that difficult.
But none of that unfortunateness will deter our little red minx. No, Nicola soldiers bravely on in true British fashion, with a brand new video for 'Yo-Yo.' It's a very good song, but like her other VERY GOOD SONGS, it will probably do absolutely nothing on the charts. It's quite nice of her to give us a video clip for it, though, don't we think? (Yes.)
The video features a party, a crushed velvet dress, and also an ACTUAL YO-YO.

According to the organizer's this concert is a departure from what is obtainable in concerts in Nigerian entertainment industry as most concerts only cater for hip hop and the youth market but this concert has come with a difference and it's not only catering for hip hop, but also other genres of music ranging from hip hop to RnB, Fuji, Highlife, Dance Hall, and even Afro Juju.

Gorgeous Ese started the evening beautifully with Bob Marley’s ‘Who the cap fits’ and Kwame was forced to pay for this flawless performance. Sassy Ruth got everyone yearning for more with her electrifying performance of Bob Marley’s ‘Buffalo Soldier’. Dressed the part and with corresponding attitude she wowed everyone. Ghanaian Ethel also smoothly sang ‘Different Colours’ by Lucky Dube and then came soft spoken Rachael who with her high pitched tone sang Gregory Isaacs ‘Number One’.
Roy who is the last man standing did a good rendition of Black Uhuru’s ‘Guess Who’s coming to dinner’
and the judges were not so pleased with this performance. They expected so much from him that they felt his performance was way below standard, but everyone still encouraged him to slow down and be the magnetic Roy that started the competition. The judges felt Princess’ choice of song wasn't so good but they still applauded her courage with the smooth delivery of ‘Youth of the day’ by Musical Youth. Pretty Yvonne got into trouble with the judges when she performed Estelle’s ‘Bring it on’. The judges did not spare her at all and was sternly advised to be more professional next time.
Finally for the evening Monica in her usual diva attitude wowed everyone with Patra’s ‘Workerman’. Both the judges and faculty felt really proud of her; having re-written the lyrics of the song, she made it her own and did justice to this not-so-easy-to perform song.
After all said and done, Ruth and Monica were the only contestants who raised the bar with their performances and landing the other six contestants on probation. The stage is tougher now and the show hotter. These contestants are counting on your votes to make it through.
Not to forget, Roy is the last man standing in the house. Do you think he will make it to the finals? What do you think? This season of MTN project fame west Africa is getting hotter by the day. The ladies came prepared this season lol!

Ade Bantu, the international musician and producer was present as a guest judge. With his keen ears and eyes complemented our not-so-easy-to-please judges.
After six powerful but terse performances, it was judgement time. Pretty Ethel again won the hearts of viewers at home; judges saved Roy, faculty after much deliberation saved Ruth.
Ese, Velma, and Isaac’s fate was now to be determined by the votes of the four contestants not on probation. While Isaac got just a vote, the three other votes were in favour of Ese. Leaving Velma and Isaac out.
For the last time on PF4 Velma performed 'Roots' and Isaac ‘Mercy’ by Mighty Diamonds as they ushered in tomorrow’s reggae nite.
