Who isn't looking for an alternative to MAC?
Because frankly i am not too excited about having to pay $42 for a lipgloss and can not see anyone disagreeing. So here i come to you with a post comparing a drugstore lipgloss with a MAC one. I guess you could say that i am on the hunt for an identical MAC alternative.
You can see that packaging wise, they are not very similar. However, the colour is very comparable. Sportsgirl is very pink toned whereas MAC is more peach toned but they are still similar.
Then the swatching just crushes my hopes even further as the Sportsgirl one goes on extremley sheer with no colour, leaving it as a transparent gloss with little sparkle. MAC on the other hand has just the right amount of sparkle, acting more like a shimmer which is more tasteful. The colour is a pigmented baby pink and although sticky, not a bad sticky that you want to wipe of. Sportsgirl has an overpowering scent of vanilla whereas MAC does smell like vanilla but not as heavily. The scent and pigmentation really lets this Sportsgirl lipgloss down and i can not stand it being on my lips.
Therefore i am still on the search for a MAC alternative. I have seen MYER stock a Sugarbaby lipgloss where the packaging looks quite similar to MAC's and Lorein has reccomended an Australis one from their Colour Inject range. Both only $10 so i will update you on how they go for me.
